The project
About TaskFlow AI
TaskFlow AI combines traditional project management with a conversational AI assistant, real-time voice interaction, and a RAG-powered knowledge base. Users manage projects and tasks through the interface, or simply ask in natural language or by voice — the AI converts requests into real actions through function calling, with confirmation on anything critical and a full activity log. Teams can also upload project documents and ask the AI questions about them, with answers backed by cited sources. Built with React, Node.js, Express, MongoDB and OpenAI GPT-4o.
Two roles are supported: a team manager who can assign and reassign tasks and invite teammates, and a team member who sees and updates their own tasks and can ask the AI about their assignments.

The challenge
Task management that people actually keep updated
Traditional task tools only work if everyone remembers to open them and fill in every field. The project needed a faster way in — for both typing and talking — without losing structure.

AI as a second way in, not a replacement
Every action available in the UI is also available through natural language or voice, using function calling so the AI performs real actions rather than just describing them — with confirmation on anything critical.

- Every AI action is confirmed and logged, so nothing changes silently
